Diabetes - You Control Your Diabetes!
You may have heard about the course that diabetes can take if your blood sugar stays too high. There are possible complications and risks for other conditions, but there is a reason your doctor may have recommended that you lower your blood sugar.
The reason is that most of the effects of diabetes can be prevented or delayed. Things like weight loss, physical activity, and taking your medications properly can dramatically lower blood glucose and risk of complications. 'Diabetes' is what you make of it; it is not a 'one-size-fits-all' experience.
Getting the Most Out of Power Logging
What is power logging? Power logging is a feature of Lark where she will help you keep track of your meals when you touch base with her, that way she can give the most accurate feedback. This feature is automatically turned on in your app, to help you log the most meals.
Logging Food To add a meal, snack, or a drink throughout the day, tap on the Activity tab, then tap on the '+' in the top right of the screen. A list of options will appear, then choose Meal.
What if I have a food allergy or specific dietary restrictions?
It is best to consult your doctor if you have any questions in regards to specific food allergies and dietary restrictions. Lark is a useful tool but our coaching and feedback are limited to a few specific dietary restrictions located at Settings > General > Coaching Preferences > Diet Preferences You may choose one or more of these preferences.
The ultimate goal for these lifestyle behaviors is for them to become habit so you do not need to think about them when you are making them. Once they are automatic, the healthy choices will be easier – and more frequent.
