A low-calorie mojito mocktail is a refreshing, minty treat perfect for warm days by the pool or a light, non-alcoholic cocktail alternative. Sweetened naturally with a touch of stevia or monk fruit, it’s a guilt-free way to enjoy the classic mojito taste while staying mindful of calories and sugar. Serve it on the rocks or blended into a frozen beverage.

This mojito recipe supports hydration, thanks to its base of sparkling water, while mint aids digestion and has a natural cooling effect. The fresh lime juice provides a good dose of vitamin C, supporting immune function and skin health. Low in sugar and calories, this drink is sweetened with stevia, making it ideal for those looking to reduce sugar intake.

Variations and Serving Suggestions

  • Make a slushy by blending ice with the lime juice, mint, and sweetener, then add in the sparkling water, for a fantastic frozen.
  • Serve it with fresh mint leaves or sprigs, which are several mint leaves together
  • Add some flavor, color, and extra nutrients by including some muddled fresh berries and cucumber slices.
  • Create some heat by adding fresh, sliced jalapenos. The mixture of spiciness and sweetness is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
  • Swap out the stevia for monk fruit sweetener or a ½ tablespoon of simple syrup.
  • Serve mojitos with a light appetizer dish like crudité with guacamole and salsa, zesty ceviche, or garlic shrimp mini tacos.

Recipe for Minty Mojito Mocktail

Makes 2 1-cup servings

  • ¼ cup of lime juice, or juice from about 2 limes
  • 1-2 teaspoons of liquid stevia, or to taste
  • 2 cups of cold sparkling water
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves or sprigs and lime slices, for garnish

Instructions:

  • In a sturdy glass, container, or pitcher, muddle (crush) the mint leaves with the lime juice and stevia until the leaves are lightly crushed and release their aroma.
  • Pour the sparkling water over the mint-lime mixture and stir gently.
  • Fill two tall clear glasses with ice and pour the mocktail over the ice.
  • Add a few mint leaves and a lime slice to each glass for garnish if desired.
