Al final de esta sesión van a revisar su plan de acción semanal para que hagan los cambios que necesiten.

  • Pruebe formas nuevas y agradables de comer en forma saludable y hacer actividades físicas.
  • Celebrar sus éxitos.

La historia de Raquel

Raquel está en riesgo de diabetes tipo 2. Por eso, ella ha estado tratando de comer en forma saludable y hacer actividad física por los últimos seis meses.

En los primeros seis meses ella se sintió muy motivada. Raquel alcanzó su meta de pérdida de peso de los seis meses. Ella también logró su meta de actividad física. Perdió 12 libras (5 kg), y su azúcar (glucosa) en la sangre bajó. Pero recientemente parece que su motivación se ha apagado. Ya no está alcanzando sus metas de alimentación y de actividad física. Raquel, ha aumentado 2 libras (1kg).

Para volver a tomar el ritmo, Raquel se mantiene positiva y usa los
cinco pasos para resolver un problema. Ella se da cuenta de que
su pérdida exitosa de peso puede impulsar su motivación.

Así que Raquel se recuerda a sí misma de los otros beneficios de comer de
forma saludable y mantenerse activa. Ella se propone otras metas, aparte de perder peso, y decide darse una peque√±a recompensa, que no se relaciona con comida, para alcanzar sus metas de peso y actividad física.

Hoy en día, Raquel se siente de nuevo motivada y ha regresado a su estilo de vida saludable.

¬øCuál es la lección de esta historia? La lección de esta historia, es que usted debe estar preparado para cuando su nivel de motivación baje para que pueda despertar y sostener su interés y su esfuerzo para perder peso y hacer actividad física. Piense de forma positiva, repase sus metas para evitar disminuir sus esfuerzos y para que pueda resolver las dificultades que aparezcan.

¬øCómo hacer frente a los retos?

Permanecer motivado puede ser más difícil que motivarse por primera
vez. Vamos a ver algunos retos y formas de enfrentarlos. Escriba sus propias ideas en la columna que dice "Otras soluciones". Luego, escoja
las ideas que quiere probar.

¬øCómo celebrar sus éxitos?

Sea pequeño o grande, cualquier paso hacia un cambio saludable debe ser celebrado. Celebrar sus logros le ayuda a mantenerse motivado(a) a largo plazo.
