When something great happens, do you not just want to shout it to the world? Why would it be any different when that something great is something that you did? The Lark DPP check-in mentioned bragging rights and much more: the chance to help others. Here is why it makes sense to tell the world what you did and how you did it.

The Right Thing to Do

Sure, there might be a little bit of satisfaction from bragging, but telling others what you accomplished and how you did it is actually the right thing to do because it can be helpful to them in a few ways.

  • What you did is possible for a mere mortal to achieve, so it is worth them continuing to work towards achieving the same thing.
  • Challenges that you faced may be the same as the ones they will face, so they can learn from how you overcame them.
  • You can let them know what to expect from the journey.
  • You can share the amazing strategies you discovered along the way to move forward.

If you are still doubtful, try to think back to when you first started your journey or were in the early stages. Would you have liked to have a role model letting you know that you could do it? You can be that role model for others.

You Get What You Give

Helping others is not the only benefit you get from sharing your success stories. Personal benefits abound, too. As you share your success stories, others might share theirs. Just as you explain your strategies and tips, they might give you theirs, so you can learn from them.

There is also the always-helpful promise of building your support network. People who know what you have accomplished and respect what you have gone through can become a valuable part of your support system as they encourage, empathize, and advise you the same way you might do for them.

Sharing Your Lark DPP Success

If you are looking for understanding, like-minded people with similar goals of lowering blood sugar and type 2 diabetes risk, why look beyond the Lark DPP community? Lark DPP users, like you, are at higher risk for type 2 diabetes and are committed to making healthy lifestyle changes to reverse this risk.

Members of Lark DPP's Facebook group known as the Marvelous Melons are exactly those people. They are going through the Diabetes Prevention Program, chasing weight loss and physical activity goals, and trying to make healthy choices, day by day. Find comrades to talk to in the group and a few of them may become friends for life.

Another way to share a tip, if Lark DPP is working for you, is to leave a review. How many other people might you influence by telling them that Lark DPP is helping you? You might inspire them to log in one more time, to go out for an extra walk so they can tell Lark about it, or to choose dressing on the side because they know they will be logging that meal in Lark.
